Tanya Blackburn

Tanya founded RTJ Consultants in 2004 as a boutique Public Relations agency focused on maximizing awareness and implementing best PR, marketing practices, and added value for the domestic and international hospitality and luxury resort industries. Since then, the hospitality road has deliberately intersected at technology, clean-tech and finance where she has successfully helped public companies and high-growth start-ups break through market clutter and media hype to help clients drive sales and increase brand awareness, which has lead to secured investments and boosted company valuations. Tanya and her team focus on PR/Marketing campaigns, Creative Direction, Advertising, Social Media, SEO/SEM, Event & Sponsorship Marketing, Brand Awareness/Management and Corporate Communications with a strong focus in the Hospitality and Green Technology sectors.

Prior to RTJ, Tanya honed her skills as a journalist (with a nose for news) working in television for both ABC and NBC affiliates as an on-air reporter, field producer, associate producer and editor. She retired from news to become Chief Mom Officer to two beautiful girls. While that remains her primary role, Tanya was able to transition into high-end club management, marketing and sales meticulously structuring membership plans, campaigns and ownership documents where she held positions of Director, Membership Sales & Marketing for industry leading developer, Sunrise Company and its Toll Brothers division in Las Vegas, Nevada; was Senior Vice President of the Sandcastle Group, marketing private memberships from $3,000 to $275,000 successfully realizing annual sales exceeding $4 million dollars. Tanya was also Director, Global Communications for Progressive Gaming International, a former public technology company servicing the high stakes casino gaming industry where she launched international public relations/marketing campaigns of systems valued at between $1M and $5M per unit across North America, Europe, and Asia.

A classically trained ballet dancer in R.A.D., Imperial, and the Cecchetti Method, Tanya has also held board seats with the Desert Youth Ballet and the I.D.E.A. Dance Academy. Tanya holds a BA in Communication Studies from the University of Nevada Las Vegas where she graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Chris Brooks

Chris Brooks joined the RTJ team in August 2010. In her role as Creative Director and Account Executive she is responsible for co-leading the creative/account management process in order to execute on client projects; she oversees profitability and the creative quality of projects; operational readiness of the creative team and fulfillment of our promise to our clients; consulting with clients; developing new client relationships; and making insightful and actionable recommendations for new strategies.

Chris is also an expert at Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization and Pay Per Click and is Google AdWords Certified. Enabling her to translate client marketing goals and expectations into key brand concepts and rationales and increasing ROI. Chris is a natural at creating an upbeat imaginative culture which has jelled this whole team. Chris' commercial construction and high end interior design experience make her uniquely qualified to liaise with both our building technology and hospitality clients.

She is currently a member of American Marketing Association.
Pamela McMeekin

Pamela McMeekin joined the RTJ team in the summer of 2010 as an intern and has since been promoted to Account Executive ~ Integrated Marketing Services. Pamela oversees client survey development, respondent analysis, supports agency partners with coordination of client deliverables, and manages the firms Social Media Marketing.

Prior to RTJ, and from 2008 to 2011, Pamela worked at PMG Intelligence, a Market Research, Branding, and Strategic Marketing firm in Waterloo ON where she honed her skills in corporate marketing, web 2.0 marketing and advertising. At PMG, Pamela worked with clients such as Investors Group, and RIM (Blackberry) including but not limited to, conducting surveys, market research, and project management.

Pamela graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario, Canada where she earned an Honors of Communication degree with a strong focus in Business Management and French. Pamela is fluent in both French and English.
Priscilla Drozd

Priscilla is a top of the line corporate event and wedding planner. She first discovered her passion for creating beautiful orchestrated events at The Sands Hotel and Casino in Puerto Rico. In 1994 she joined the ITT Sheraton Corporation, as Special Events & Entertainment Manager in Tunica, Mississippi. After four years of residency she relocated to Las Vegas.

She started working as a Director of Special Events & Entertainment at Desert Inn Resort . She was very fortunate to play an instrumental role with casino marketing events, televised events, national headliner acts, and resort functions. After the closing of the Desert Inn Resort in the year 2000, Priscilla joined The Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas, servicing local and international clientele. Priscilla managed weddings, social events for charitable causes, corporate events, convention services and off-site catering functions. She later went to work as an Events & Catering Director for Red Rock Country Club. While at the club Priscilla designed, sold and produced local charity fundraising events, weddings, social and corporate member events.

Priscilla has demonstrated a proven track record of providing exceptional results in the event management field and her experience catapults her into a marketing league all her own. She considers event production logistics to be her passion and calling and is honored to do what she loves as part of the RTJ team.
Denise Adams

Denise is known throughout the hospitality industry as one of the foremost experts in developing and executing successful membership marketing programs for exclusive golf and country clubs, business and social clubs. During her career she has been instrumental in planning and implementing club development and membership sales programs for more than 80 clubs (private, semi-private, and resort) throughout the United States, including American Golf's Firestone Country Club, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, Singapore, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Sydney, New Zealand, Mexico, Bahamas, Central and South America, and South Africa. Denise is also the author of Membership Sales Skills Manual, The Club Marketing Reference Library and The Guide to Membership Marketing and is a featured speaker and panelist at club industry conferences and trade shows.
Shannan Verhusen

Shannan is a dynamic marketing and sales executive with an impressive record of achievement and more than 15 years of demonstrated success in diverse industries. Her experience speaks volumes, ranging from association and business management to hi-level direct sales and marketing in technology, hospitality, and tourism markets. Shannan has an excellent reputation for extensive contacts, up-to-date information, and the strategic sense to package solid, actionable ideas into a viable business plan. A sampling of Shannan's account experience includes Chicago Association of Direct Marketing, North American Society of Trenchless Technology, American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the International Association of Association Management Companies. Shannan has contributed her business expertise to organizations including Bostrom Corporation, American Society of Clinical Pathology, inReach Corporation and Sunrise Company. Shannan plays a critical role in RTJ Consultants technology and hospitality arms. She graduated from DePaul University in Chicago, IL with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing.
O’Neil Warner

O’Neil Warner is a top of the line designer, bringing extensive experience in the planning, production and execution of many design, marketing and advertising projects. A deep passion for all things creative and a multiple award-winning member of the Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC), over ten years of creative work in a wide range of industries. Good intuition and a love for challenge have proven to motivate O’Neil and produce head-turning work.
